What a great weekend
|
27th June was a busy day. Up at 7am to help set up Windsor’s Mid-Summer Fayre: constructing stalls; blowing up the bouncy castle; putting the barriers up for the duck race and helping reduce the stock in the beer tent!
Only drinking water as I had to keep a clear head for the evening’s Armed Forces Day Dinner in Bracknell. Dave McCulloch came over from Maidenhead and helped out. We sold over 100 tickets for the duck race on the day and ensured a bumper entry in this year’s duck race. It was great to see Paul Bidwell’s business duck some over the line in first place... hopefully he’ll be taking us out with him on his boat trip thanks to Kris’ Cruises. In the evening I put my hand up in the auction and bought myself another Dennis Blandford masterpiece. I think we’ll run a July special and promote the sale of the painting via EBay. With paintings the value is in the eye of the buyer, not the seller, so a great way to both prove our service and generate some turnover in these very testing times. Sunday was a day of rest!
